The music is groove-oriented, improvisatory, and intended as background texture. Though it is a live human duo, plugzilla sponge can easily play the role of a DJ at an event.

Japanese born Yukari encountered music at the tender age of 5 when she began taking classical piano lessons and then classical flute lessons at age 10 (Toho Music School).After graduation she visited over 20 countries including India, Spain, Austria, Mexico, and Morocco, playing with local musicians to gain experience. While in Puerto Rico she was discovered by former members of the Fania All Stars and also attended a Berklee School of Music workshop there.
In 2000 Yukari moved to New York to further her musical education by studying Jazz with Lew Tabackin, Jamie Baum and Barry Harris, whilst participating and performing in the local music scene with supporting herself by modeling and translating. She has played Latin & Brazilian, Jazz, Flamenco and Funk at such venues as the B.B.King's, Zinc Bar, Blue Note, CBGB’s, Living Room, Bottom Line, Nell's.

Leon Gruenbaum has been a vital force in the New York music scene for the last 16 years. After early classical training on piano and woodwinds, Mr. Gruenbaum developed an interest in jazz, funk and avant-garde music.
Mr. Gruenbaum conceived of the world's first relativistic music keyboard, a patented MIDI controller called the Samchillian Tip Tip Tip Cheeepeeeee. He has recorded and performed internationally with this instrument with guitarist Vernon Reid (Living Colour).
He also plays this keyboard while singing his own 'abstract pop' songs in his projects, "L.E.G. Slurp" and "Math Camp."
In 2003-4 he was a visiting artist at Harvard University
Other artists with whom he has performed include Stew, James "Blood" Ulmer, Nana Vasconcelos, Chaka Khan, Beans and M.C.P.S.
