Leg Lowering or Raising Event
THIS YEAR'S EVENT THIS SATURDAY, AUG 7 !!
Every year, sometime usually in the summer, at midnight a plastic mannequin leg is either lowered from the roof of 96 St. Mark's Place, to be placed in the window, or raised from the window to the roof. This is accompanied by music and outbursts of artistic creativity. The opening act is the eating of a slice of pizza by Leon, which happens at 11:45 PM.
Traditionally, the pizza is eaten at Stromboli's.
This year the event is scheduled for September 26, 2003. See you there!
